Help Nikos Gyros this Sunday

The Year of Giving Back continues for Nikos Gyros owner Alexandra ?Alex? Serpanos as she opens this Sunday to donate all proceeds and tips to the United Indians of All Tribes Foundation at Discovery Park.

?We give to a different organization each time,? explains Serpanos. ?We did Foundations of Magnolia; Camp Erin, of the Moyer Foundation; Camp Agape, for kids with cancer; and Project Hope for Greece.
Employees volunteer their time for this once-a-month event with 100% of receipts given to the recipient. This special event is always on the fourth Sunday of the month.
?I don?t charge anything for the food. It?s all on me,? says Serpanos. ?We get a lot of kids volunteering so they can get hours from their high school community service programs.?
The staff puts together a special menu for the program which includes breakfast items such as, omelettes, breakfast gyros, steak and eggs, and a lamb burger with a fried egg. Additionally, following requests by customers, the regular daily menu is also available.
?I encourage the neighborhood to come. Whether it?s after church or specifically to support this event,? suggests Serpanos. ?Not only are you doing good, but it will make you feel good. How wonderful to just give back.?
Hours this Sunday are 11AM-4PM at Nikos Gyros, 2231 32nd Avenue West in the Village.
