I noticed when I stopped by the Brown Bear self service car wash on 15th next to the Ballard Bridge today that there was a large “for sale” sign on the lot.? Could you find out if Brown Bear is planning to close that location?? I’ve used it frequently for many years, so it would be a huge bummer if it was going away.
Thanks, Tom! I drove by today?and saw the sign as well- We will check into this.? Hopefully the car wash will stay open.
Always seemed odd to me to have so many Brown Bears in close proximity — there’s another one on the other side of the bridge, and yet another at the gas station across from Whole Foods.
I think one is a self serve car wash and one a tunnel drive through besides gas (?). I guess it was to catch people in both directions and the rent was cheap at the time.
There are actually two self-serve car washes (one on each side of the bridge), and one tunnel wash (where the gas station is), although they at least used to have self-serve at that location, too. Saw some construction behind the drive-through one a few weeks ago; they may be bringing the self-service pods back — which, now that I think about it, could explain why one is closing.
