Spring is in the air, and with that comes Magnolia’s 2nd annual Springfest & Art Walk, this Friday, April 27th from 5-8pm.  With 22 stores and businesses participating, there will be tons of art to see and sips and snacks to enjoy as you pop in and out of shops in the Village.  Here’s a mini preview of what you can expect:

  • Magnolia CPA and The Magnolia Mailbox will be hosting an open house with three artists,  Eric Olson, Corinna Sinclair and Cathy Graczyk, along with the musical stylings of the “Magnoliacpa and the 1040’s” jazz duo featuring Jason Graczyk – guitar and Jon Goneau – keyboard. They will also be serving wine, coffee and light appetizers.  Both businesses are located on the first floor of the Magnolia Center Building in the hallway that runs between Wheeler and McGraw Streets.
  • Vixen Day Spa and Boutique will feature art, as well as libations (3209 W. McGraw).
  • Jazz guitarist Marco DeCarvalho will be playing in front of Starbucks from 6-7:30.
  • The Friends of Magnolia Manor Park are hosting a “Build your own Birdhouse” workshop. Paints and supplies will be available if you’d like to build your birdhouse right there, or you may take your kit home. Stop by their table outside of Umpqua Bank in the Village (at 32nd and McGraw). There will be four designs to choose from, with suggested donations of $15 dollars per kit. Proceeds will go toward the park fund. For more information, please contact Susan Casey at scompost@q.com or Melanthia Peterman at melanthiap@gmail.com.
  • The Magnolia Community Center will host bounce houses, tumbling fun and a pottery sale for Mother’s Day. (Bouncing and tumbling for ages 10 and under). $3 per child; pottery sold separately, but all proceeds benefit the center. Kids get in free with the purchase or a $3 or more item. Free gift wrapping for purchases more than $10. For more information, call the center at 206-386-4235.

Plus much more…W. McGraw street will remain open to traffic, so please walk carefully- see you there!
