You voted, and the winner is…

The Umpqua Bank Build Your Block Challenge’s official winner is the Magnolia P-Patch Tool Shed and Supplies initiative. Since March 12, local residents have had the opportunity to vote for one of three neighborhood enhancement ideas they’d like to see come to life. The P-Patch  initiative will receive $10,000, as well as the volunteers needed to complete the project.

The new P-Patch being developed on 28th Avenue West (in Magnolia Manor Park) will be enhanced through the construction of a secure tool shed and the provision of basic garden tools. The ability to have tools on-site will give neighborhood gardeners a great start to planting their new plots, reaping their harvests and building community together.

  1. I guess democracy wins the day, but this is the option that benefits the fewest people.  I would have preferred either of the others.

    1. Maybe, but it’s a more active benefit as opposed to the more passive welcome sign and public art alternatives.  I think all three were worthy.
