Rooty the Carrot to appear at Blaine today

If parents can?t convince ?em, maybe Rooty can.

That?s the hope anyway when Rooty the Carrot visits Catharine Blaine K-8 students today in celebration of National Food Day.

There?s a day for just about everything these days, but National Food Day may be one of the more important ones as it is designed to inform and educate students and adults alike about the importance of a healthy diet. Hence, Rooty.

The carrot character from Full Circle Farms of Carnation, will appear in the cafeteria at noon where it will encourage students and their families to eat fresh, local foods and speak on the importance of sustainability.
