The Magnolia Farmer’s Market will be back this summer in a new location. The market will open on June 18 at the corner of 33rd Avenue West and West McGraw in the heart of The Village. The market will be open every Saturday through October 8 from 10a.m. to 2p.m. For a list of vendors at this years market, click here.
As we reported last year, the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance (NFMA) announced that the Magnolia Farmers Market was facing funding challenges and would not reopen. Since then community volunteers and the local business community came up with the plan to move the market to the new location. They believe putting the market in the heart of Magnolia?s business district will reenergize the market and bring customers to local businesses as well.

There will also be a Farmer?s Market in Interbay beginning this Thursday (6/9) at 3p.m. and continuing throughout the summer. It will be located at the Interbay Urban Center, just north of the Magnolia Bridge in the Whole Foods complex.
Moving it to the Village was such a no-brainer. The move will generate shoppers down to the Village, which was like a ghost town on Saturday afternoons.
Where exactly is this going to be? Are they closing down streets? Is it in a lot?
The old one was like two blocks from there, hardly far from “The Village”. I’m not against the move, I just don’t see the point.
I think they were paying fees to use the parking lot for the old site.
Finally! Good work from the merchants group. This will pick things up in the village. In case you haven’t noticed, the Magnolia Village is in dire need of support from all the residents. If this doesn’t happen, it will be gone.
This is where it should have been all along. Only have to look a couple miles to the Ballard Market to see that this is where the market should be placed. ?It definitely makes it seem more “happening” and helps out the local businesses. ?Going to a parking lot to pay a premium on veggies isn’t as attractive as going to a “street fair” type event. ?
