Seattle Animal Shelter?s Pet of the Week is Ralph. This beautiful dog is calm, easy to handle and gentle. He’s medium sized at 40 pounds, and is a bit over 10 years old.
His lineage is a bit of a mystery ? he could be retriever, or maybe some border collie, or who knows. But in any case, he’s a great guy, and a very dapper gentleman who is looking for his forever home.
He loves a long walk, with plenty of time to sniff the roses, trees and fire hydrants, followed by a long snooze, preferably on a soft couch, although a nice carpet will do fine too. He’s extremely sweet and mellow, and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids of all ages.
Ralph’s ideal home will have a calm environment and some prior dog experience. He’s not crate trained, but it’s no problem leaving him in the house unsupervised ? he’ll just relax and take a nap until you come home.
Ralph qualifies for the Seniors for Seniors program. Senior citizens or disabled adults with a ?Gold Card for Healthy Aging,? or a ?FLASH? card, issued by the City of Seattle, may adopt an older dog (at least six years old) at a special price ? there will be no fee for the adoption itself, and the licensing fee will be half-price.
If you would like to meet Ralph ? he?d love to meet you! ? download a Dog Adoption Application and send your completed application to the Shelter?s Adoption Review team at adoptionreview@gmail.com or fax it to (206) 386-4285. You may also pick up/drop off the application at the Seattle Animal Shelter, 2061-15th Ave. W.(1 mile south of the BallardBridge). The shelter is open Wednesday-Sunday from noon-6:00 pm, and closed on holidays.
