Planning for Magnolia Manor Park is in the home stretch and there is one more chance for community feedback on Wednesday, June 8th. The final public meeting will run from 7-9p.m. at the Magnolia Presbyterian Church at the corner of 28th Ave West and Dravus.
Planning for the park has been underway since January and now the final preferred site plan will be subject to one more meeting to gather community feedback. The preferred plan includes Magnolia?s first P-patch, a dog off leash area, open spaces, an orchard, a view plaza, amphitheater and park pathways with connections to Lawton Park and playground.
As we have reported, Sustainable Magnolia has received funding from the Department of Neighborhoods through its Small and Simple matching grant program to fund a project entitled ?Envisioning a Vibrant Community Gathering Place for Manor Park.? The amount awarded is $20,000, and is expected to be matched in the form of volunteer hours and resources. At next week?s meeting, the Sustainable Magnolia Steering Committee will pass the torch to the newly formed Friends of Magnolia Manor Park Steering Committee (FMMP). A second grant has been applied for by FMMP. For more information you can visit the park website.
