The City of Seattle will have a disaster drill from 9am-noon, Saturday April 28. Communications HUBS will be set up all over the City. Magnolia’s hub will be in the Blaine parking lot. In case of a disaster such as an earthquake we expect all or most communications will go out, phones, cell service, power etc. This HUB will be powered by solar power and generators, and will communicate with the Seattle EOC, Emergency Operations Center where the Mayor and all City Services will be. Come and see this in operation as reports are received and sent via radio to the EOC. Volunteers such as the Boy Scouts and Amateur Radio operators are assigned to the event along with FEMA and are often visited by the Mayor.
