A student at Our Lady of Fatima school is organizing a shoe drive for the victims of the tsunami in Japan.

Seventh grader Patrick Barba and his mother Karen wanted to find a a way to help the victim’s of Japan.  Today they kicked off a local shoe drive for Soles4Souls.

They are asking Magnolia resident to bring in a pair of new or gently worn shoes (athletic, running, dress, sandals, pumps, heels, work boots, cleats, dance, flip flops) to the Our Lady of Fatima front office, located at 3301 West Dravus Street between the hours of 8am and 4pm.  The shoe drive will run  through May 1.

Soles4Souls was created to gather shoe donations from groups and get them to the people who desperately need footwear around the world.

  1. Thank you for putting this together, Patrick and Karen! I’m going through our closets tonight.

  2. If you are thinking your shoes are going to Japan, don’t donate sizes larger than women’s size six or men’s size eight. Japanese people don’t have American sized feet.
