Power outage in Magnolia

A falling tree is suspected as the cause for wires that came down on West Lawton Ave a little after 8am on Sunday, causing a power outage to parts of Magnolia, Interbay and Westlake.  About 3,800 homes and businesses were affected at the peak of the outage.

Repair crews routed power around the damage, restoring about 90 percent of the affected customers by 9:30 a.m.  An initial estimate for full restoration of service for all customers was 4:30 p.m.

The area affected by the outage stretched from Discovery Park in Magnolia along the ship canal through Interbay and along the west side of Lake Union. For more detailed information  about the location of the outage and updates, check out the system status map here
