The Magnolia Historical Society’s 10th Anniversary commemorative sculpture by Magnolia artist John Leglar will be installed outside the Windermere Building at 3214 W McGraw on Saturday (6/18) at 11a.m.
The hand-carved sculpture tells the story of major historical events in Magnolia, including the spot where the ancestral Duwamish hunted and gathered food at West Point 4,000 years ago.
Leglar and the Magnolia Historical Board will be in the Village presenting a commemorative postcard to celebrate this historic event between 11am-1pm.
It should also be noted that long time civic leader Art Van del Wel was instrumental in providing space for this artwork. As we reported, Van der Wel passed away suddenly earlier this week.
