Truck stolen from 36th and West Ruffner

Magnolia Voice reader Ben wrote to tell us about the theft of his truck overnight:

I just wanted to inform you that we had a 95 Nissan black pickup truck stolen from our street last night (05/11). The doors were locked and the club was installed on the steering wheel. Police have been notified and as of 9am this morning no other cars were reported missing in the neighborhood. The location was 36th Ave W and W Ruffner.

To add to a recent story on the Magnolia Voice, may or not be related to our situation, I did notice someone in a green, neon vest with a clipboard in hand outside our home on 36th street at around 2pm, 05/11. It was across the street and I did not notice if it was a man or a woman.

Ben is referring to a story we posted on April 28 about a home break in.  A neighbor told us that prior to the burglary, she observed a young woman in the neighborhood wearing a parka/vest (green) and carrying a clipboard, looking at homes and making notes on a clipboard.

We don?t know if this car theft or home break in are related to the people with the clipboards that have been seen in the neighborhood.  Seattle Police tell us that if you see anything suspicious you should call 911.  They can determine if there is a legitimate reason for people to be in the neighborhood.

  1. We had a 97 Nissan Maxima stolen in Feb. on 36th and Raye. They pulled out the ignition and put in a different one. It was also locked and there was no forced entry. The car was found 2 weeks later about 5 blocks away.
