Congratulations to two students from Blaine who are big winners in the Department of Neighborhoods? Annual Neighbor Appreciation Day Art Contest. In the all-city grades 1st through 5th category, Blaine 5th grader Julia Haworth took second place. In the all-city grades 6th through 10th category, Blaine 7th grader Hannah Schubert received Honorable Mention.
Hundreds of students from more than twenty schools around Seattle submitted artwork for the contest. Mayor Mike McGinn will be handing out the awards to winning students at a special ceremony on February 12th.
