Magnolia celebrates National Night Out with block parties

As we mentioned?a few weeks ago, August 6th was National Night out against crime.? There were some hopping parties all over the hill, some with bands, bouncy houses and great food and drink.? A?few of you were kind enough to send you block party photos. It sounds like one party got a little out of hand…
Local Police doing a drive by on 32nd & Thurman, stopped by to enjoy some bbq & all the fixn’s that makes a picnic great. Suddenly one of the officers noticed a young lady, Stefania Ghilarducci, who has been eluding Seattle police for months, ever since she graduated from Ballard High School, she has been “WANTED” ! Her parents say she has been gone, out, disappeared for nights on end. There has been several sightings of her at local Starbucks, the beaches in Ballard, Dominican Republic & even Los Angeles! Well last night she was finally apprehended and brought home to her loving parents!

  1. Stop being creepy. I’m less concerned about violent crime in the neighborhood than I am about creepy men at this point!

    1. Creepy? You are a typical “PC sheep”. We are healthy males attracted to beautiful women. WHAT is so creepy about THAT??!!! Who are you…the “Church Lady” or an old biddy?

      1. Please don’t tell me you can’t tell the difference between attraction/compliments and the comments that have been made here.

    2. Wow. She should be able to wear whatever she is comfortable in without what I assume are grown men talking about her body and erections on a local news site. Just about everybody at Mounger Pool wears less than she’s wearing in that picture; that does NOT give you the right to make sexual comments in a public forum. That’s just harassment and nobody in this forum should tolerate that.

Take a break from your fantasies of this young girl “enticing you” and look up “rape culture,” and in particular “victim blaming” and “sexual objectification.”

      1. Mom…men dont exactly go to Mounger pool to get their jollies. I wear shorts and mini dresses all the time and see men staring. With men it is a visual enticement…at least thats what the book says. We go to Europe and enjoy the beaches there you dont see in general men ogling the topless women or women ogling the men in speedos or thongs.

Please dont bring “rape culture” and “victim blaming” into this. I think the men here are either just trolling for reactions or getting their rocks off.

        1. I’m extremely appalled that my earlier comment was deleted but the sexual comments of the men on this board remain. How can Magnolia Voice defend that?

        2. Agreed. But Europe isn’t puritanical like we are here. Here, it is still antediluvian…if a woman dresses in scanty clothes she is borderline open season for looks, touches, or whatever else a guy feels can be done….not in the workplace anymore… but definitely in social situations. Young women dress in scanty clothes because they like to feel sexy and they like the attention…otherwise they’d wear a burka. I certainly think it should be hands off…but it basically was, and in many way still is a rape culture here, and a smart young woman has to realize that dumb, drunk guys, or guys who think its an invitation to act…will probably do so. I don’t blame the women, and what good does it do to blame the culture…pragmatically, if you dress provocatively you are going to elicit a reaction that is going to go along with the scanty clothes.,.and take your chances that you aren’t in the presence of a guy who doesn’t understand boundaries.

  2. I think most girls/women understand that when wearing provactive clothing it can attract more eyes than necessary. You know, it IS very warm this season and if I want to wear short shorts or a loose top I really dont care if guys are getting a look or not just keep your filthy hands away or my husband will take care of things.
