Happy 4th of July weekend! Perfect weather for the holiday weekend and plenty going on, whether you venture over to Gas Works or South Lake Union to watch the fireworks, or are looking for other fun outdoor activities. However, keep in mind there?s a full weekend closure of Mercer St between 5th Ave N and Dexter, and 99 starting at Valley St and running through the Battery St Tunnel. Here are some suggestions for the long weekend:

- SIFF Uptown New & Continuing Films: This is the End, The Bling Ring, A Band Called Death, Rock Jocks (Friday only)
Saturday, July 6
- Seafair Pirates Landing, Alki Beach, 9:30am-3pm FREE
- Nicolas Cage Match, SIFF Uptown, 11am (6 Nicolas Cage films)
- 5th Annual Red, White, & Dead Zombie Walk, Seattle Center, 3pm, FREE
Traffic:
- Mercer: closure ? 11pm, Friday, July 5 through 5am, Monday, July 8. Mercer closed pedestrians between 5th Ave N and Dexter Ave; 99 closed between Valley St and south end of Battery St Tunnel. Why? Demolition of the east side of the 99 bridge over Mercer.
