Seattle Fire Department crews rescued a teenage girl who fell down an embankment at Discovery Park on Monday. The teen fell about 15 feet and hurt her back, the Fire Department said. Medics transported the 17-year-old girl in stable condition from Discovery Park to Harborview Medical Center.
I find it difficult to believe that she fell from within the VERY clearly marked boundary. Those “stay back” signs are pretty darned obvious. So that’s what, a dozen rescue workers’ time she wasted by ignoring the signs?
Jumping between sand dunes when she fell, according to KING-5 News. Not smart. http://www.king5.com/news/cities/seattle/Teen-rescued-after-fall-at-Discovery-Park-212838931.html
I hope the girl makes a quick recovery.
BUT who pays the bill of this rescue that COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED?! Gas to fuel helicopters and fire trucks isn’t cheap.
I hope her parents have to pay the city for raising a stupid kid. There are signs everywhere. Oh, and common sense.
She’s 17, for heaven’s sake. And a human being. We’re fallible. Except for Drew, I guess. Drew’s perfect.
