After a successful debut last year, Magnolia’s Run the Bluff 12K/5K returns Sunday, October 7th. Last year, over 700 runners participated, raising over $3100 for Magnolia schools. This year’s race is on track to include over 1000 runners and continues to benefit local PTAs, along with the Magnolia Community Center.
Both the 12K and 5K races are open to runners of all skill levels and feature scenic views of our neighborhood. 12K participants will begin at 8:30 am on W. Smith St in the Village, quickly followed by 5K runners at 8:45am. The family-friendly event wraps up with a free Kids Dash and a post-race celebration in the Village. Local business owner and Magnolia resident Dr. Josh Penner is excited the race is in its second year:
Last year a dream was realized for our community. We were able to organize and execute an inaugural 12k and 5k run/walk that raised over $3100 for local Parent Teacher Associations in our neighborhood. In a time of deep budget cutbacks, these funds were much needed and warmly received by 7 different PTA groups, supporting Magnolia’s school age children.
