Local artist Tracy Bixby was delighted when her?acrylic painting, Magnolia, was selected for the Magnolia Summerfest 2011 poster art: ?It?s a great feeling to see your work all over the Village and beyond.”
Now another artist has the opportunity to have his or her artwork featured on the 2012 Magnolia Summerfest poster. ?We encourage artists working in two-dimensional visual media to submit their artwork by May 1,? said Marti Stave, Chair of Magnolia Summerfest and Art Show. ??The piece that most exemplifies the theme ?Summertime in the Northwest? and catches the spirit of this fun community event will be used as the backdrop for the 11? X 17? Summerfest poster.?
Not only will the winner’s art be showcased?as the?official Summerfest poster backdrop, they will also get a?10? x 10? booth at the Summerfest Art Show (August 3-4).
Stave says “If?an artist isn?t chosen for the poster contest, showing their work at the Summerfest Art Show is still a great way to go.?For the poster contest, online digital submissions are preferred but arrangements can be made for original artwork to be reviewed as well.”

Did I miss an announcement that the fest is still on? Last I heard, it was in jeopardy.
The art portion is having a difficult time getting someone to head it up. Might go south if no one found.
