It didn’t take long for barriers to materialize at Bartell Drugs following the appearance of anonymous fliers around the Village asking store management to do something to protect employees and shoppers.
According to the flier, cars have crashed through the front of the building five times in the last 20 years. In a story reported earlier this month by Magnolia Voice, a spokesperson for the store said “Bartell’s is going to install barriers… by the end of this month.”
“Bravo for Bartells!” exclaims “Priscilla,” the Magnolia Voice commenter who takes credit for the flier campaign.

Very smart work. Congrats. Bernie
I think I can fit my car between them…
LOL, I thought the same thing! Not that I would try.
Bottom line is I’m pleased Bartell’s took action.
Bartells is a good local company.

I feel sooo much safer now that there are barriers protecting me from begin hit by a car when I’m inside a store. This doesn’t solve the problem that maybe some people shouldn’t be driving. I can still be hit by a car in the parking lot or walking on the sidewalk past the parking lot entrances.
