Magnolia’s Cub Scout Pack 80 is looking for new recruits and is hosting?an informational meeting for parents and boys interested in?Cub Scouts at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19 at?Magnolia United Church of Christ in Pilgrim Hall (3555 W. McGraw St.)
Magnolia’s Cub Scout Pack 80 has been creating life-long memories for over 65 years, from pinewood and soapbox derbies to outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and community service projects. Cub Scouts serves more than 80 boys (grades one to five) and their families from the Magnolia neighborhood.
Highlights from last year include:
- Halloween costume party with games such as ?The Eyeball Bounce? game and ?Toilet Paper Mummification
- A rewarding service project at the Emergency Feeding Program of King County
- A mini-Olympic night featuring feats of skill
- Hike to Twin Falls in the snow
- Gift collection for the Friends of Youth organization
- Pinewood Derby races
- Winter camping with tubing and sledding
- Annual spaghetti dinner
- Soap Box Derby races in the park
- Food collection drive for the Ballard Food Bank
- Skit night
- Summer camps with archery, hikes, crafts, whittling, swimming and boating
- Good times with friends – learning, working and playing together
- Life-long skills learned and a sense of achievement gained
