If you see people in Magnolia looking at maps on Wednesday (5/4) evening, its an event called the Hood Hunt. It starts at 6p.m. at the Magnolia Presbyterian Church at 3051 28th Ave West. Hood Hunts are a series of map-based scavenger hunts, held in various neighborhoods in the Seattle area. Its a grassroots effort, where participants show up at the suggested meeting time and location, and bring a copy of the map & questions. Each neighborhood map covers about a half square mile and contains twenty checkpoints. Participants find as many checkpoints as they wish, and return to the finish.
There is no cost to participate and you can go solo or with a team. Participants can be as recreational or as competitive as they want, there will be no official timing or results. After the Magnolia hunt, they will be meeting up at Mulleady’s Irish Pub at 3055 21st Ave West.
