Meet Eva!

This week?s featured pet is Eva, a darling silver-beige miniature poodle tipping the scales at a mere 13 pounds. She?s a young six years of age and is a very cheerful, sweet and loyal girl.

Eva loves people and would love to spend as much time with you as possible.  She?s so well behaved you can take her nearly anywhere, and she?s great on leash.  Eva can become a bit anxious when left alone, but she?s been improving on this in her foster home. Sadly, she was de-barked by her previous family, so she doesn?t have much of a voice and is a pretty quiet girl.

In addition to a good teeth cleaning and grooming, Eva has also had a veterinary exam. The vet thinks her eyes and brain don?t always communicate properly, so sometimes she needs your eyes when she?s near stairs and landings just to make sure she doesn’t miss a step. Eva has also had mild seizures (in high stress environments) but she?s now happily taking a twice daily medication for these. She?s only had one seizure since the meds kicked in! As a poodle, Eva will require a bit of grooming and daily brushing.

Eva would be an excellent companion for a family with adults who understand that she needs a little extra TLC and peace and quiet some of the time, but also like walks and being social. She would be fine with another dog in the home though she doesn’t really do much playing with them, and would really prefer to be an only child.

Eva is in a Seattle Animal Shelter foster home. If you would like to meet Eva, download a Dog Adoption application.  Send your completed application to the Shelter?s Adoption Review team at  adoptionreview@gmail.com or fax it to (206) 386-4285. You may also pick up/drop off the application at the Seattle Animal Shelter, 2061-15th Ave. W. (1 mile south of the Ballard Bridge). The shelter is open Wednesday-Sunday from noon-6:00 pm.
