Snow turns to slush

The snow turned to rain overnight, turning streets in our area into a slushy mess.

Seattle Schools are starting two hours late today. Earlier this morning the district announced that McClure Middle School would have an early release day but they just changed that and said McClure students will be dismissed from school at their normal time today.

Seattle Public Utilities says that garbage, recycling and food waste collection is on schedule in the city today.  Due to the weather, some routes will be starting and finishing later than usual.

The main roads are mostly clear but the slush is still thick on the side streets, making it messy for drivers and walkers.  The rain is expected to continue this morning and with temperatures moving up, the snow should be gone soon.  In the meantime, be careful out there.  Once driver said it was like driving in a Slurpee.
