A successful yet soggy Winterfest

Pouring rain kept the some of the crowds at home during this year?s Magnolia Village Winterfest Friday night. And if you were without the obligatory umbrella, you were indeed a soggy santa. The heartiest of folks managed to stroll the business district and snack on a nosh or two. Most offerings by area businesses were indoors as eventually were most attendees.
The spirited souls included some caroling Girl Scouts, and a male chorus decked out in holiday regalia who kept things merry and bright. There was a grinch; a live jazz band, under a tent in the middle of McGraw Street; and even Kris Kringle himself at Windermere Real Estate.
The new owners of Finn?s bakery celebrated their opening day with lots of?neighbors stopping by to sample baked goods and to wish them well. Lunches and a few more tables and chairs will be added soon, they say.Although not particularly cold, this annual get-together in the Village was certainly squishy. ?Thanks to all the businesses for the hospitality,? said one drenched resident.
