Low-flying helicopters tomorrow

Magnolians needn?t be alarmed if they see fire-fighting helicopters performing rescue missions on skyscrapers Sunday in downtown Seattle.
But don?t worry. It?s just a drill.
All day Sunday, starting at 10:30 a.m., Multiple Puget Sound public safety agencies will be teaming up to practice rescue drills off a high rise skyscraper. The practice involves the Snohomish County Sheriff?s Office Helicopter lowering members of the High Rise Firefighting/Rescue Team onto the roof of the Safeco Plaza Building at 1001 Fourth Ave. The exercises will continue through 4:30 p.m. and will demonstrate the ability of the Seattle Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Regional Aviation partner organizations to work together. The participating partners will emphasize aviation safety in the air and on the ground. For more information visit www.fireline.seattle.gov.
