Hempfest crowds this weekend

Expect lots of traffic in our area as Hempfest moves into Myrtle Edwards Park.  Hempfest runs for three days this year, running Friday (8/19) from 12 to 8p.m.

Hempfest organizers added a third day to spread out the crowd.  Previous coverage of their agreement with the city, who fought the third day, here.

Hempfest runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. ? 8 p.m.  Over 80,000 people are expected to attend on Saturday alone.

  1. As a 20+ year resident of Magnolia, this event has never really impacted me one way or another, but this year, the traffic was intolerable.? I had multiple events to attend at the waterfront (wedding and shuttling family to a cruise ship) and this was the worst I have ever seen it…Saturday evening was unbelievably bad to get to the watefront.? I hope they go back to a 2 day event, but probably wishful thinking…

  2. Seattle leaders should be ashamed of themselves for celebrating the use of illegal drugs that take an incredible toll on families and our city and allowing this event to even take place.? While there may be some qualified medicinal uses best prescribed in pill form, the glorification sends the wrong message to our youth and makes it even tougher for parents to keep their children on the right path.? Seattle needs to redefine itself as the family-oriented city that it used to be.? As a native, I can attest to the moral decline that our once beautiful city is experiencing.? Once one of the nation’s most livable cities, it is fast becoming one of the most laughable.

    Get real city leaders!
