Alice in Wonderland at Blaine

Lewis Carroll?s Alice in Wonderland is about to hit the boards at  Catharine Blaine K-8 School, this time as a musical with a twist. The 60-student cast and crew have come together to stage an original production with new lyrics to classic songs by The Beatles.

It seems the whole school is involved in this ambitious show conceived, adapted, and directed by Blaine?s MultiArts teacher Laurel Anne White.

?We set the standard high. If you expect great things, they will give you great things,? said White when asked whether this effort was difficult for younger children.

Since January, Blaine?s Glee Club, band, and countless other volunteers have worked eight-days-a-week to launch this timeless tale. Actors, singers, musicians, plus set designers, construction and costumers ? all students ? have had a big part in shaping this long and winding road. Blaine?s Alice in Wonderland sets a high bar.  The Fab Four would be proud.

?Childhood is a time of discovery. With drama, they discover what they?re capable of,?  continued White.
