We are so excited to announce that the wait is almost over for the new playground in Discovery Park. Seattle Parks and Rec spokesperson Karen O’Connor writes: “Thank you to everyone who participated in the planning for the Discovery Park Play Area. We are happy to announce construction will begin at the end June or early July and be completed in the fall.” The Seattle Park District is providing $550,000 in funding for planning, design and construction. The new playground equipment will include play elements and access for children of all ages and abilities.
